You’ve worked most of your life and are ready to start enjoying some well deserved funtime. If you’re celebrating a milestone like a special birthday or anniversary, and you want to commemorate it in a unique and exciting way, why not plan a cruise?

The major cruise lines have special themed cruises, including those for seniors traveling in a group or on their own. The lines you can check out for custom designed Senior Cruises are Carnival, Costa, Crystal, Holland America, Norwegian, and Princess.

Prior to planning your cruise, especially if you’re a first time cruiser, you should search the web to learn more about your options. You can find numerous travel sites pertaining to cruises, as well as cruise blogs to read about previous passengers experiences. The major cruise lines all have their own websites, and usually videos or virtual tours to help you decide.

Your cruise experience will depend upon the line you choose. If you want a more relaxed, quiet atmosphere and prefer lounging by the pool, a line like Holland America is perfect. However if you’re a person who wants activities that are non-stop, and a variety of nightlife options, you may choose Carnival or Princess. Dining is also a consideration. Some lines assign passengers to tables, but more flexible options in alternative venues are also available.

Each ship has a newsletter delivered to passengers with a schedule of activities shipboard, and shore excursions available. If you plan a shore excursion, make sure to reserve early, because they usually fill up fast. In the newsletter, you’ll also find listings for bars and resturants with their schedules, and movies that are available to watch in your stateroom.

Exercise classes, yoga, golf, tennis, and volleyball are among the activities. Larger ships also have enrichment programs or lectures about various shore excursions or the ports the ship is visiting. For the night owls on the ship, production shows, dancing, live music, and a casino are onboard.

For seniors with a physical disability, many lines now offer special accommodations. On older ships, some of the cabins have been renovated, but on the newer ships, cabins are specially designed for those with physical disabilities. Service animals are now allowed on some of the ships, but check with the cruise line to see what their policy is.

Cruises are “all inclusive,” and include accommodations, dining, activities, and entertainment. Alcoholic beverages and shore excursions aren’t included, so plan accordingly. Many of the lines offer special discounts to seniors, and if you’re traveling with a group, the group leader will often cruise for free. Groups may also plan special activities, dinners, or parties onboard exclusively for their group.

Planning well in advance will ensure that you’ll have a memorable cruise. For information about cruise lines and what they offer, visit www.cruisemates.com

One of the most unique dining experiences you’ll ever have is at the Al Mahara Restaurant at the Burl Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. Al Mahara has a nautical theme, and the tables are placed around an enormous coral reef aquarium. If you’ve never dined in a nautical themed restaurant, it’s interesting to say the least. I visited a similar, but not as elaborate, restaurant in Kemah, Texas, and I enjoyed watching the exotic varieties of fish, and the divers feeding them, as much as I did the dinner.

A simulated submarine ride whisks patrons from the reception area to their table. Dine on sumptuous, fresh seafood while gazing at the unusual varieties of sealife, including Blacktip Reef Sharks who eye diners ominously. The salt water in the beautiful aquarium is deep blue, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Listen to soft background music while sampling some of the best dishes in Dubai. Al Mahara has won numerous awards for its excellent cuisine, and has been voted one of the top fifty restaurants in the world. Reservations are always required.

The menu is split between classic and modern dishes. To sample a variety of the tantalizing entrees, you may choose either three or five courses, with three different dishes for each course.
Starters include several varieties of caviar including Iranian which has a unique flavor all its own, and Beluga. Natural Oysters by the half dozen or dozen, Norwegian Salmon, and Atlantic Lobster Salad, are among the cold starters. Four Flavors is a delicious Thai dish with pineapple, carrots, and nuts. Norwegian Crab Canneloni, Pan-Fried Japanese Scallops, and Roasted Zucchini with raisins, yogurt, and mint are some of the popular hot starters.

Among the delectable main courses are Norwegian Cod with White Asparagus and Mushrooms Ragout, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Gold Risotto, with Wild Mushroom, Pumpkin, and Parmesan, Wagyu Beef “Rossini” with Spinach Subric and Maxim’s Truffle Potato, and Hot Seafood Platter.

Specialty dishes for two include Salt Crusted Seabass with Seasonal Salad and Steamed Vegetables, or Milk-Fed Confit Leg of Lamb with Tarbais Coco Bean Cassoulet. Choose from Potato Puree, Creamy Spinach, Wild Mushrooms, or Seasonal Vegetables for your side dish.

Al Mahara features a variety of delicious signature desserts such as Crepes Suzettes with Orange Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, as well as traditional favorites. The Ivory Sphere Tiramasu is drizzled with Warm Cafe Noir Sauce. Chocolate Banana Tart is served with Rum Raisin Ice Cream. The Violet Flower Infused Ice Parfait is a delicious dessert with Passion Fruit Marshmallow and Blackberry delight. A Pistachio Panna Cotta with Meringue, Blueberry and Yogurt Ice Cream, is one of the more unusual dishes. If you prefer, a Cheese Plate Selection is on the menu.

Jumeirah Beach is one of the loveliest and most exclusive areas in Dubai. Visitors may choose one of over 20 resorts and hotels on the beach to stay at while touring the nearby attractions. Jumeirah Beach extends 20 miles along the Arabian Gulf and boasts crystal clear waters.

Jumeirah Beach Park is a favorite family attraction for tourists and local residents. It was the first beach park to overlook the Arabian Gulf, when it opened in 1989. Food vendors and picnic areas are at the park, which also has special swimming and play areas for children, with lifeguards on duty. Green, hilly areas surround the recreation areas. Jumeirah Beach Park is next to the Hilton Beach Club.

Wild Wadi Water Park is the perfect place for the entire family to spend a day. Located close to the hotels and resorts of Jumeriah Beach, the park has water rides, slides, and a lagoon that’s hidden. You’ll enjoy waterfalls, out of the way swimming holes, and a tidal pool.

Al Safa Park is one of the oldest in Dubai. It’s a favorite for sports enthusiasts, and many visitors enjoy playing tennis, volleyball, and soccer. Children love playing games in the video arcade, or riding the ferris wheel and bumper cars. The park even has a maze to wander through. Barbeques and picnic areas are available for those who want to make a day of it.

The latest advance in both our understanding of HIV and trust in Nano silver is reported here -
http://www.nano-silver.com/research-articles/nanotechnology-and-aids.htm

What is says is very simple and very, very important. it documents that Nano Silver prevents the HIV virus from replicating. No replication, no deterioration or degeneration to AIDS. This is lifesaving and very important to anyone with HIV/AIDS. Nano silver is inexpensive, has a very long shelf life, can be given to anyone no matter what their age or physical condition and has been shown to be effective against every organism against which it has been tested.

But that makes Nano silver very dangerous. Not to you, of course, but to the pharmaceutical industry. Why? Because silver is the universal antibiotic and would destroy a vast pharmaceutical market (over used in both animals and people and very, very dangerous!) if enough people knew about it. That’s why it was taken off the market in the EU on Jan. 1, 2010 and why the FDA and EDP want to take it off the market in the US. That’s the Fraud and Death Administration, as far as I can make out. How long will we have Nano silver? I don’t know. But I strongly suggest you make sure you have enough on hand for a long time.

And if you are looking for a home-based business, helping more people to get supplies of this vitally important, side-effect free, tasteless, odorless and easy-to-swallow liquid is a very, very good bet.

Albert Einstein

The Other Seven Wonders of the World
By Harvey Mackay

A group of students was asked to list what they thought were the present “Seven Wonders of the World.” Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, “Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there are so many.”

The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”

The girl hesitated, then read, “I think the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’ are:

1. To see
2. To hear
3. To touch
4. To taste
5. To feel
6. To laugh
7. And to love.”

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous! A gentle reminder — that the most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.

A reader sent me the above story. Wow! This is certainly something to think about.

We’re so busy looking for the big picture that we sometimes miss the little pictures that make it up. It’s true in all aspects of life, personal and professional. You can deal with the personal side; I’d like to explore the wonders of life at work.

If you look at what’s important in your company, certainly a successful bottom line is right up there, but how do you get there?

Can you be successful without a contented workforce? Products you believe in enough to use yourself? Sterling reputation? A real desire to be the best? These are the simple elements of any successful individual or company.

In other words, can you see your way to success? Can you feel it? Can you taste it? Can you smell it? Is it calling to you? Will you have some fun getting there, and will you love what you do?

President Woodrow Wilson phrased it eloquently: “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forgot the errand.”

Thomas Watson Jr., former chairman of IBM, often told anecdotes about his father, Thomas Watson Sr., founder of the company. One of them went like this: “Father was fond of saying that everybody, from time to time, should take a step back and watch himself go by.”

I invite you to do just that today. Then ask yourself some questions: Am I making things more complicated than they need to be? Am I getting a good look at everything that’s going on around me? Am I using that information to improve my performance? Am I looking for big changes when little changes would make a bigger difference? Am I making more work for others and myself? Do I appreciate the simple gift that each day is?

The answers need not fly in the face of simplifying matters. Instead, they should help you see that, frequently, a simple solution will solve most problems. It’s been said that making the simple complicated is commonplace, but to make the complicated simple requires creativity.

Like a great sculptor who chips away at a massive piece of marble to reveal its simple beauty, try to approach matters at work to get to the very core of the issue. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about sales, manufacturing, marketing, management, or whatever. Keeping things simple will avoid a lot of complications down the road.

Mackay’s Moral: Simplicity is the eighth wonder of the world.

One of history’s most important lessons is that politicians should never be given a free hand to borrow money to cover the costs of wars, overseas adventures, or military spending.

More empires have been brought down by reckless spending than by invaders. The late Soviet Union, which wrecked its economy by buying too many tanks, is the most recent example. Now, the United States appears headed in the same direction.

Even so, President Barack Obama calls the US $3.8 trillion budget he just sent to Congress a major step in restoring America’s economic health.

In fact, it’s another potent fix given to a sick patient deeply addicted to the dangerous drug of debt.

Washington’s deficit (the difference between spending and income from taxes) will reach a vertiginous $1.6 trillion this year. The huge sum will be borrowed, mostly from China and Japan, which the US already owes $1.5 trillion. The United States has put its fate in the hands of two nations who bear it little good will.

Debt service will cost Washington $250 billion, and may reach over a third of the total Federal budget within the next decade. Washington is still paying for past wars while considering starting a new one against Iran.

To understand the immensity of one trillion dollars, one would have had to start spending $1 million daily soon after Rome was founded and continue for 2,738 years until today.

Obama’s total proposed annual military budget is nearly $1 trillion. This includes Pentagon spending of $880 billion. Add secret “black programs” (about $70 billion); military aid to foreign nations like Egypt, Israel and Pakistan (including bribes); 225,000 military “contractors” (mercenaries and workers); and veteran’s costs. Add $75 billion (nearly 2.5 times France’s total defense budget) for 16 poorly functioning intelligence agencies with 200,000 employees who keep tripping over one another.

The Afghanistan and Iraq wars ($1 trillion so far) will cost $200–250 billion more this year, including hidden and indirect expenses. Obama’s Afghan “surge” of 30,000 new troops will cost an additional $33 billion – more than Germany’s total defense budget.

These figures do not account for wear and tear on US military equipment, costs of reconfiguring the US military to wage colonial wars in the Third World, or the cost of replacing worn-out equipment. Pentagon bookkeeping is about as flexible as Enron’s bookkeeping.

No wonder US defense stocks rose after Peace Laureate Obama’s “austerity” budget.

Military and intelligence spending relentlessly increase as the official unemployment figure hovers near 10% and the economy bleeds red ink. Some estimates put real unemployment at over 20%.

America has become the Sick Man of the Western World, an economic cripple like the defunct Ottoman Empire whose inept financial management was legendary.

The Pentagon colossus now accounts for half of total world military spending. Add America’s rich NATO allies and Japan, and the figure reaches 75%.

China and Russia combined spend only a paltry 10% of US on defense.

There are 750 US military bases in 50 nations and 255,000 service members stationed abroad, 116,000 in Europe, nearly 100,000 in Japan and South Korea. President George W. Bush doubled military spending – much of which accrues to Republican states – to wage his faux war on terror.

Military spending gobbles up 19% of federal spending and at least 44% of tax revenues. America is on a permanent war footing. Many Americans believe the president’s primary role is as a war leader rather than chief executive of the republic.

Like Bush, President Barack Obama is paying for America’s wars through supplemental authorizations – i.e. putting them on the nation’s already maxed-out credit card. Wage war now – pay later. Future generations will be stuck with the bill.

This presidential and congressional jiggery-pokery is the height of public dishonesty.

America’s wars ought to be paid for through taxes, not bookkeeping fraud. If US taxpayers had to actually pay for the Afghan and Iraq wars, these conflicts would end in short order.

America needs a fair, honest war tax. But hardly any politicians – save the courageous and honest Rep. Ron Paul – dare admit this hard truth.

The US has clearly reached the point of imperial overreach. Military spending and debt servicing are cannibalizing the US economy, the real basis of its world power. Besides the late USSR, the US also increasingly resembles the dying British Empire in 1945, crushed by immense debts incurred to wage WWII, unable to continue financing or defending the imperium, yet still imbued with imperial pretensions.

It is increasingly clear the president is either not in control of America’s runaway military juggernaut, or working with it.

Sixty years ago, the great President Dwight Eisenhower, whose portrait I keep by my desk, warned Americans to beware of the military-industrial complex. Six decades later, partisans of permanent war, fear-mongering, and world domination have joined Wall Street’s money lenders to put America into thrall.

Increasing numbers of Americans are rightly outraged and fearful of runaway deficits. But many do not understand their political leaders are also spending their nation into ruin through unnecessary foreign wars and a vainglorious attempt to control much of the globe – what neocons call “full spectrum dominance” – using the canard of terrorism to justify an imperial policy that often closely resembles that of the old British Empire.

If Obama were really serious about restoring America’s economic health, he would demand military spending be slashed, quickly end the Iraq and Afghan wars, and break up the nation’s five giant Frankenbanks that now control 40% of all deposits.

But the president won’t, of course, and neither will Congress. They would see the nation go over the financial falls rather than change course.

*“Plaque” is super-glue lipoprotein(a) and protein mesh fibrogenin/fibrin. They plug holes in your pipes to keep you alive. 50 years of overshoot finally fills your vessels (especially including kidneys) to kill you. There is no other way to remove plaque. Not EDTA, not statins.

However, Matthias Rath,MD and Linus Pauling PhD discovered the removal formula and patented it in 1994. Google search: U.S. Patent 5278189, 1994. Plaque Wash & Rejuvenation System© is based on that patent. Silica is newly added to the System. Astounding. No, cholestero is not involved. It gets stuck to the Lp(a) AFTER the pothole is patched.

It saved my life in 2004 at age 74 and still does now in 2010. Details and images: www.cureheartdisease.us

Plaque Wash & Rejuvenation System© is pre-measured 32 twice daily treatments per kit. Some parts are once per day. One glass of water is all you need. Automatic hypertension reduction comes with plaque removal. Same exactly as I take daily. Money back guarantee is tied to your blood pressure.

**The absurd cholesterol disease theory is the kiss of death. Half of the killings strike without warning. Escape inclusion in the annual slaughter for about half the cost of lunch at McDonalds. Burton Lin
