A Brief Bio
Tom practiced Law in Toledo, Ohio before moving to Florida in the ’80’s to pursue investment & securities projects.
By 1990, Catastrophic Illness was a hot topic in Congress. The result was a new Medicaid program for the US. Tom set out to explain it to middle class clients to help them benefit from the program where possible.
As the Baby Boomers reach 60, Tom’s focus has changed. Longevity has created a crises. How do we protect ourselves from the devastating health care expenses we are facing as we get older and need care?
Today Tom seeks to help families in other ways to relieve the crushing burden that comes when a loved one needs long term care. More all encompassing, he focuses heavily on helping families avoid outliving their Retirement Nest Egg through knowlege and informed decision making.
Tom is a member of the Oviedo/Winter Springs Kiwanis Club, the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, Oviedo/Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
He serves on the Board of Charity Cars, Inc. in Longwood, Florida, and on the Advisory Board of Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The Six Most Common Urban Legends deal with 1. the state taking your estate, 2. avoiding probate, 3. probate costs, 4. cutting a child out of a will, 5. cutting a spouse out of a will, and 6. how much you can gift each year.

Why Are Some Pre-Retirees NOT Concerned About the Stock Market Falling
The market goes up. The market goes down. Lately the goes down, down, down. The last time we saw this, a lot of near-term pre-retirees had to put off retirement for a long time.
Why are some clients NOT concerned by this?

Financial Advisor Warning!
Financial Advisors have been warned by their Agencies and Broker/Dealers that, when working with their older clients, they should bring up the need for Long Term Care Insurance. Then, if the client refuses, the Advisor should make a note of this in their file notes.
Why would they require that?
Because a lot of families become very upset when Mom or Dad needs long term care and they have no way to pay for it without digging into the Family Nest Egg.
Then they call their lawyer. Then the Advisor calls his Errors and Omissions insurance carrier.
It happens a lot. Hindsight is 20-20. That’s why we ask and that’s why you should seriously consider this Asset Insurance. It’s not for you, it’s for your family.
Make it a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous Day
